I also have a Vanguard S2 with the Gyrptinite stock. Not that I don’t think the new rifles with cerakote and synthetics aren’t super cool, cause they are! I love my Accumark and my True North. I am still a “wood and blued steel” kind of guy. I’m looking forward to seeing the new Mark V’s in person. The new line up of Mark V's is certainly being received well and we are excited about a lot of the new offerings. So, we kept the model that our customers wanted.Īs for the Lazermark, you can still get those from us. The Sporter sells well in the Vanguard, just not the Mark V. Most folks that wanted a Mark V in wood wanted the higher grade Deluxe version. The picture may look deceiving on the website, but it still has the same high gloss finish.Īs for the Sporter, it honestly was not a good seller for us in recent years. Additionally, they are still finished and checkered in Italy, where they have been for many years and the same 5 coats of finish are applied giving it the same high gloss look. The stock blanks are still claro walnut and come from the same mill in California that my grandfather used in the 60's.
